Auto Keyboard for PC: Free Key Press Automation

Auto Keyboard is a lightweight Windows utility that presses or holds any keyboard key at your chosen interval—perfect for AFK gaming, keeping your PC awake, or repetitive tasks. Download free, no setup required.

What It Does

Auto Keyboard automates keyboard input on Windows 10 and 11. Instead of holding down a physical key for hours, you pick the key once, set the interval (as fast as 5 ms or as slow as 10 minutes), then toggle it on with a hotkey. Come back whenever you're ready.

The tool fires real keyboard events through the operating system—the same signals a physical keyboard sends. It works in games, remote desktops, full-screen apps, even when the Auto Keyboard window is minimized or hidden.

Common use cases: AFK farming in incremental and idle games, staying awake during long downloads or uploads, running the same UI test loop for hours, data-entry repetition, or any situation where your finger would otherwise be glued to the same key.

How to Set It Up

Download the portable build, unzip it anywhere (Desktop, Documents, USB stick—doesn't matter), and launch the .exe. Nothing installs, no admin prompt, no account required.

Click Set Key and press whichever key you need: letter, number, Space, Enter, arrow, function key, or numpad key. Then enter the interval in milliseconds. If you want the key held down continuously instead of tapped repeatedly, tick Hold key down. Optional: add random jitter (±) to make the pattern less obvious.

Press F6 (the default global hotkey, rebindable to any F1–F12) to start. Press F6 again to stop. The hotkey works from any window, including full-screen games. A session counter shows how many presses have fired since Start, so you can stop at a round number if you want.

Quick Setup Guide

  1. Download and unzip No installation needed. Run the app from anywhere.
  2. Click Set Key Press the key you want repeated (letter, number, Space, Enter, arrow, function key, etc.).
  3. Enter interval Type milliseconds (5 ms to 10 minutes). Or tick Hold key down for continuous pressure.
  4. Optional: add jitter Tick Randomize ± to add a small random offset so the pattern doesn't sound like a metronome.
  5. Hit F6 to toggle Start and stop from any window, even full-screen games. Hotkey is rebindable to F1–F12.

Real Scenarios

AFK idle game: Set key to Space, interval 500 ms, tap mode. F6 to start farming, go do something else. Back in 2 hours.

Keep PC awake during upload: Set key to Space, interval 30 seconds, tap mode. The short press won't interfere with the upload, just prevents the screensaver.

Repetitive game mechanic: Some games require mashing the same button. Set interval to 50–100 ms (depending on the game's response time) and let Auto Keyboard handle the rhythm.

Testing a UI loop: Your test harness waits for a key press. Set the key and interval, start Auto Keyboard, and walk away. The session counter tells you exactly how many cycles ran.

Accessibility: If holding a key is physically difficult, use Auto Keyboard in Hold mode so you don't have to maintain pressure.

Questions

Will it work in my game?

Auto Keyboard sends real keyboard events, so it works in most games. However, online titles with kernel-level anti-cheat may forbid input automation. Check your game's terms of service before use.

Does it need the internet?

No. The app runs entirely offline. No account, no login, no network calls.

Can I use it on Mac or Linux?

No, Auto Keyboard is Windows only (10 and 11, 64-bit). It uses Windows-specific keyboard APIs.

Is it actually free?

Yes. Free forever, no watermark, no locked features, no trial countdown.

How do I uninstall it?

Delete the folder. Since it's portable and doesn't touch the registry or system folders, that's all you need to do.

Will it slow down my PC?

No. It's a small portable app that only sends keyboard events. Zero background services, negligible CPU use.
