Free Auto Keyboard for Windows

Auto Keyboard is a small, portable Windows app that presses or holds any keyboard key at the interval you set, toggled by a global hotkey. Perfect for AFK farming, idle games, long test loops, and keeping your PC awake—no install, no account, completely free.

Why You Need an Auto Keyboard

Your finger gets tired. Your PC falls asleep. A game needs you to tap the same key for an hour while you're away. A data-entry form demands the same input fifty times in a row. An upload takes forever and your screensaver kills the connection.

An auto key presser solves this with a single, reliable rhythm: pick the key, set how fast it should press, hit the hotkey, and walk away. No complex macros. No coding. No third-party frameworks.

Auto Keyboard runs on Windows 10 and 11. It's portable—unzip it anywhere and run it. Nothing installs. Nothing hides in the background. Close the window, the process ends.

How to Set It Up

  1. Download and unzip Go to the download link, unzip the folder to Documents, Desktop, or anywhere else. Run the app directly—nothing to install.
  2. Click Set Key Press the button and press the keyboard key you want repeated. That's it.
  3. Enter the interval Type milliseconds (5–600000). 100 ms for a moderate tap, 5000 ms for a slow heartbeat. Or tick Hold key down to keep it pressed continuously.
  4. Optional: add jitter Tick Randomize ± and set a range (e.g., ±20 ms) so each press varies slightly.
  5. Start or press F6 Hit Start in the app, or press F6 from any window to toggle on and off.

What It Actually Does

Auto Keyboard sends standard keyboard presses through Windows, exactly as if you were pressing the physical key yourself. You choose any key—letters, Space, Enter, arrows, function keys, numeric pad. You set the interval: as fast as 5 milliseconds for rapid taps in an idle game, or as slow as 10 minutes for a periodic 'alive' signal during a long background task.

Two modes: Tap fires repeated quick presses. Hold keeps the key pressed continuously, as if the physical key were stuck down. Optional jitter randomizes each interval slightly so the pattern doesn't sound like a metronome.

The global hotkey (F6 by default, rebindable to any F1–F12) starts and stops the pressing from any window—including full-screen games, remote desktops, and minimized apps. A session counter shows how many presses have fired since you hit Start, useful if you want to stop at a round number.

Real Scenarios

Idle game grinding: Set the key to Spacebar, interval to 500 ms, Tap mode. Press F6 and the game taps automatically while you do something else.

Keep PC awake: Set any key (Space works fine), interval to 30 seconds, Hold mode. The PC stays awake during a long download or file transfer.

Remote desktop heartbeat: Set a low-risk key like Shift, interval to 2 minutes, Tap mode. Some systems require periodic input to avoid timeout.

Data entry or testing: Set Enter or Tab, interval to 200 ms, Tap mode. Loop through a form fifty times without touching the keyboard.

Anti-idle in online games: Check the game's terms of service first. If automation is allowed, Auto Keyboard works in competitive and casual titles alike. If the game uses kernel-level anti-cheat, it may forbid input automation—the app makes no attempt to hide itself, so use it responsibly.

Questions

Does it really cost nothing?

Yes. Free forever, no trial expiration, no Pro tier, no locked features. MIT licensed.

Will I need to sign up or log in?

No. The app doesn't touch the network at all. Nothing to create, nothing to remember.

Can I run it on Mac or Linux?

Do I have to install it?

No. Unzip, run, done. To remove it, delete the folder.

Does it have ads, updates, or background services?

No ads, no telemetry, no background process. Close the window and it stops.

Will it work in full-screen games and remote sessions?

Yes. The hotkey works everywhere, including minimized windows, full-screen apps, and remote desktops.
